Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a temporary halt to military operations in Ukraine to mark Easter, the Kremlin said.

The ceasefire is set to run from 16:00 Moscow time (1700 Baku time) on April 11 until the end of April 12, according to the statement.

Putin instructed Russian forces to suspend combat operations during the period, while remaining ready to respond to any violations.
