Kyrgyzstan plans to replace remaining Russian-language village names by 2027

Kyrgyzstan plans to replace all remaining Russian-language village names by the end of 2027, President Sadyr Japarov said during a meeting with residents in the Alay district.

“We plan to complete this work next year,” Japarov said.

He added that he also opposes naming settlements after well-known historical figures in Kyrgyzstan.
