Azerbaijan plans to increase processing of Kazakh crude
ЭAzerbaijan plans to increase the processing of Kazakh crude oil at its refineries, Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry said following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Georgia.
According to the ministry, the move forms part of Kazakhstan’s strategy to diversify its oil export routes and expand cooperation along the Trans-Caspian corridor.
Kazakhstan also intends to increase crude shipments through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. President Tokayev said cooperation in the energy sector was developing successfully and that Astana planned to raise transport volumes via BTC.
Kazakhstan exports most of its crude through Russian routes and has been seeking to expand alternative export corridors.
