Ammunition Found Concealed in Passenger's Shoes on Moscow–Baku Flight

Customs officers intercepted a Russian national carrying 11 rounds of live ammunition concealed inside shoes packed in his carry-on luggage on a flight from Moscow to Baku, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan reported.

Suspicious imagery was detected during an X-ray scan of the passenger's baggage at the airport terminal. A subsequent physical search uncovered the cartridges hidden within footwear inside the luggage.

Forensic analysis confirmed the items were factory-made, live 9×18 mm caliber ammunition suitable for firing. An investigation into the incident is underway.
