Rashad Hasanov appointed adviser to Azerbaijan’s finance minister
Rashad Hasanov has been appointed adviser to Azerbaijan’s finance minister, he said.
Hasanov returned to Azerbaijan after completing his work at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
“I will continue my professional career in public service as an adviser to the finance minister and contribute to the large-scale reforms being carried out in public financial management,” Hasanov said.
From August 2025 to July 2026, Hasanov represented Azerbaijan on the executive boards of the IMF and the World Bank Group.
He also served as an adviser to an IMF executive director from September 2023 to July 2026. From 2019 to 2023, he was a deputy director at Azerbaijan’s Finance Ministry.
