Baku imposes road closures for Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Baku authorities will implement extensive traffic restrictions in the city centre ahead of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix, scheduled for September 24–26.
Initial street closures will begin at 21:00 local time on September 19 along Pushkin Street, between Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street and Neftchilar Avenue. The entire racing circuit footprint will remain closed to general traffic from 01:00 on September 20 until 08:00 on September 28, with residential and commercial access restricted to official vehicle permit holders.
To ease peak-hour urban transit, selected corridors will open for non-stop traffic on September 21–22 (07:00–09:00 and 18:00–20:00) and on September 23 (07:00–09:00 and 20:00–22:00). A new transit connector will also run from the Pushkin/Uzeyir Hajibeyli junction toward Bulbul Avenue.
Private vehicles will be permitted through designated corridors at a maximum speed of 50 km/h, while public buses, heavy trucks, and curbside stopping remain strictly barred.
