Azerbaijan intercepts 111 kg of drone-smuggled drugs from Iran

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan has intercepted a major drug smuggling operation from Iran, seizing 111 kilograms and 200 grams of narcotics.

According to border authorities, the illicit cargo was detected within the operational zone of the Horadiz border detachment. Smugglers attempted to transport the narcotics across the state border using unmanned aerial vehicles.

As a result of targeted border search and operational measures, officers seized 57.5 kg of narcotics on September 22, followed by an additional 53.7 kg on September 24.

Operational and investigative measures into the incidents remain ongoing.
