US Envoy to Türkiye Labels Ankara-Riyadh-Islamabad Mission to Iran a "New Diplomatic Format"
US Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack characterized the joint mission of representatives from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan to Iran aimed at de-escalating Middle East tensions as an example of an evolving foreign policy format. Barrack noted that Washington is actively coordinating its posture with the three nations as the international arena adapts to similar multilateral frameworks.
Addressing the Mecca Common Defense Agreement, the ambassador explained Egypt’s non-participation by pointing to Cairo's existing peace treaty with Israel and bilateral security pact with Greece.
