West's unceremonious and cheeky approach can also be traced in relation to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said, commenting on the processes taking place around Armenia in the context of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan.
According to her, neither the regional specifics nor the special sensitivity of the problem are taken into account.

"The true goals of Washington and Brussels are by no means the development of compromise and balanced solutions, but self-promotion and squeezing Russia out of the South Caucasus. Our trilateral developments are appropriated and distorted. Western emissaries visit Armenia under the guise of the European Union, OSCE, France," Zakharova emphasized. .

She also noted that "hastily concocted initiatives" that do not take into account the interests of the entire population of the region are being promoted in this regard.

"This is fraught with a disruption of the balance, which was achieved under difficult conditions on the basis of the agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia dated November 9, 2020 (statement dated November 10 - ed.)," the Russian Foreign Ministry official said.
