Zelenskiy rules out peace talks in Moscow or Minsk
12.02.2026 11:00

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday that peace negotiations with Russia would not take place in Moscow or Minsk, ruling out the capitals of both Russia and Belarus as potential venues.

“I cannot go to Moscow, the capital of a country that is the aggressor in this war, for negotiations with Putin,” Zelenskiy said. “We are ready to support U.S. proposals and meet on any territory in America, Europe or in a neutral country – any state except Russia and Belarus. Belarus, because it was an ally in the offensive against Ukraine in 2022.”

Zelenskiy added that Kyiv remained open to diplomatic efforts but stressed that the venue of any talks must be neutral.
