Kremlin says Putin-Zelensky meeting possible only to finalize agreements
A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy would be possible only if it were aimed at finalizing agreements already reached in talks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
Peskov said the main issue was the purpose of such a meeting and whether it could produce concrete results. He said Putin was ready to meet Zelenskiy, but only if the talks were meaningful and focused on concluding arrangements related to the conflict, according to Russian media cited by Reuters.
His remarks came after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Kyiv had asked Turkey to host a meeting between the two leaders as part of efforts to revive stalled peace talks. Sybiha said Ukraine was ready for such a meeting in any capital except Moscow or Minsk.
