Nearly 400 drones headed towards Moscow region overnight
More than 390 drones headed towards Moscow and the surrounding region from Monday evening into Tuesday morning, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
He said most of the drones were neutralised by air defences on the distant approaches to the region between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., while 81 were destroyed close to the Russian capital.
One drone struck an apartment building in Chekhov near Moscow, damaging flats and blowing out windows. Local authorities said there were no casualties. Several dozen drones were also intercepted over Podolsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna and other parts of the region.
Telegram channels reported a fire at the Gidrostalkonstruktsiya plant in Chekhov and published footage of fires in Podolsk and Koledino. Those reports had not been officially confirmed at the time of publication.
