Kazakhstan faces 3.5M tonne oil output loss following CPC infrastructure attacks

Kazakhstan's oil production losses in 2026 will reach approximately 3.5 million tonnes due to disruptions and security strikes on Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) infrastructure, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov stated, as reported by Kazinform.

Addressing a government briefing, Akkenzhenov announced that Kazakhstan has revised its full-year output forecast downward from 98 million to 96 million tonnes. He added that the shortfall was partially offset after Tengizchevroil shareholders opted to postpone scheduled major overhaul maintenance to next year.

CPC marine terminals and chartered tankers — including the Nordic Zenith, Asia, Nissos Ios, and NELSA — have faced repeated strikes in recent months, forcing the export hub to briefly suspend loadings in July.
