Putin: Direct Kyiv Talks Key to Ukraine Conflict Resolution
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that direct agreements between Moscow and Kyiv must serve as the primary foundation for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, noting that foreign powers can only facilitate the process.
"Russia and Ukraine must first and foremost reach an agreement between themselves. Other countries can only assist," Putin said. The Russian leader affirmed Washington’s stance that both nations should settle the dispute directly, adding that tangible prospects for a political settlement remain viable.
Putin also disclosed that intelligence and security channels between Russia and Ukraine continue to maintain operational contact.
