Crypto market posts mixed performance
Major cryptocurrency assets registered mixed price action over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data. Bitcoin fell 0.50% on the day to $85,578.17, while still preserving gains of 3.02% over the last week and 6.97% over the past 30 days.
Ethereum slipped 0.46% to $2,701.20, BNB declined 1.30% to $781.40, Bitcoin Cash slid 1.68% to $314.47, and Solana eased 0.24% to $120.13. Bucking the downward trend, Zcash advanced 0.95% to $1,343.16, Monero climbed 3.23% to $562.99, and Bittensor ticked up 0.14% to $301.81.
Gold-backed token PAX Gold (PAXG) shed 0.25% to $4,137.53, the CoinMarketCap 20 index retreated 0.63% to 177.17 points, and total crypto market capitalization contracted by 0.35% to $2.91 trillion. Market analysts noted that while soft US labor market readings have reduced the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate hike in October, elevated long-term Treasury yields hovering near 24-year peaks and a firmer US dollar continue to weigh on risk-sensitive assets.
