Firefighting efforts continue after major warehouse blaze in Lokbatan

Firefighters continued efforts on Tuesday to contain a major blaze that broke out at a large warehouse facility in the Lokbatan settlement of Baku’s Garadagh district.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said the fire was reported to its “112” emergency hotline early in the morning, prompting the immediate deployment of State Fire Protection Service units to the scene.

APA news agency reported that the fire erupted at one of the warehouses belonging to “Baku Logistics”. Multiple fire engines, emergency personnel and helicopters from the ministry’s aviation squadron were involved in firefighting operations.

Emergency Situations Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov arrived at the site to oversee operations. Authorities said goods stored in the warehouse were being moved to a safe area, while preliminary information indicated there were no casualties or injuries.
