President signs order on July military draft

President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on the conscription of Azerbaijani citizens for active military service from July 1 to July 30, 2026, and the discharge of conscripts into the reserve.

Under the order, citizens born in 2008 who have turned 18 by the day of conscription, as well as citizens born in 1996-2007 who are under 30 and have not previously completed active military service, will be drafted.

The draft applies to citizens who are not entitled to deferment and have not been exempted from military service.

Servicemen who have completed the legally prescribed term of service will be discharged into the reserve during the same period.

The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to take the necessary measures to implement the order.
