Azerbaijan found and neutralised 39 anti-tank mines, 173 anti-personnel mines and 753 items of unexploded ordnance in territories retaken by Baku between July 20 and 26, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action, ANAMA, said.

A total of 1,740.7 hectares was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan regards humanitarian demining as a key part of reconstruction in the retaken territories. Official data show that the number of mine victims in the country has exceeded 3,400, including 359 children and 38 women.

Since the end of the Second Karabakh war in 2020, mine explosions have affected 382 people, including 55 who were killed. Of the total, 143 were civilians.
