Weather alert: Heavy downpours, strong gales, and mountain snow forecast
Unsettled weather conditions and intermittent heavy rain are expected across Baku and the Absheron Peninsula on October 3, according to the National Hydrometeorological Service.
Thunderstorms are likely in parts of the peninsula, with downpours forecast to intensify during the night from October 2 to 3 and into the morning hours. Strong northwesterly winds will prevail. Ambient temperatures will range between 13–15°C at night and 15–17°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will climb from 764 mm to 768 mm Hg, with relative humidity staying high at 80–90%.
Across Azerbaijan's regions, intermittent torrential rainfall is forecast in several areas, with local chances of lightning, hail, and snowfall in mountainous zones. Fog is anticipated in parts of the country overnight and during the morning. Moderate westerly winds will occasionally strengthen in select districts. Temperatures in the lowlands are forecast at 12–16°C at night and 16–20°C during the day; in mountainous areas, thermometers will show 2–5°C at night and 5–8°C during the daytime.
