Azerbaijan drafting regulations for artificial intelligence deployment in state agencies
Azerbaijan has initiated the development of comprehensive regulatory standards and operational requirements governing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across government institutions. Nadir Novruzov, Head of Department at the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, disclosed the initiative during a panel session at the ADEX 2026 defense expo in Baku.
Novruzov noted that identifying and assessing cybersecurity risks linked to AI adoption represents a strategic institutional objective for the service. AI security protocols will serve as the focal point of the 9th summit of public sector IT and cybersecurity executives scheduled for October 20. The upcoming forum will convene specialized panels and subject-matter experts to outline robust baseline protocols for the resilient deployment of automated algorithms within the civil service.
