Azeri state energy company SOCAR plans to complete its buy back of its outstanding Eurobonds worth $97 million before Feb. 18, SOCAR's vice president Suleyman Gasymov said on Tuesday.

SOCAR issued its debut five-year Eurobonds worth $500 million in 2012.

Gasymov said the company had started to buy back its Eurobonds at the end of 2016.

"We have already bought back our Eurobonds worth $403 million and preparations for a purchase of the remaining $97 million is underway," Gasymov told reporters.

He said that SOCAR did not plan new issues this year.
