Azerbaijan’s economy is shifting to a new development model in which the private sector and entrepreneurship will play a key role, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.

Speaking at an event marking Entrepreneurs’ Day, Jabbarov said the share of the private sector in GDP continued to grow.

He said one of the main challenges for businesses was to increase competitiveness.

The minister added that state support for the private sector would continue and that expanding export markets for entrepreneurs should be a key priority.
