Chinese-crewed tanker attacked in Strait of Hormuz
A tanker with a Chinese crew was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported.
The report said a fire broke out on the vessel’s deck after the strike. It was not immediately clear who carried out the attack.
China’s foreign ministry confirmed the attack and said there were no casualties. The vessel sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands but has Chinese crew members on board.
Beijing expressed concern over the consequences of the conflict and urged all sides to exercise restraint.
