Aliyev says Azerbaijan leads globally by number of countries supplied with pipeline gas

Azerbaijan exports natural gas through the Southern Gas Corridor to 16 countries and ranks first globally by the number of countries it supplies with pipeline gas, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Euronews.

Aliyev said 10 EU member states are customers of Azerbaijan, while 12 European countries in total receive Azerbaijani gas.

He said the number of countries interested in gas cooperation with Azerbaijan is growing. Aliyev also said Azerbaijan expects to announce the start of gas production from a new field early next month.
