Gold accounts for more than a quarter of Azerbaijan’s exports

Azerbaijan exported 23.8 tonnes of unwrought, semi-manufactured or powdered gold in January-May 2026, earning $3.636 billion, according to the State Customs Committee.

Gold accounted for 26.03% of the country’s total export revenues and was the largest item in non-oil and gas exports.

Azerbaijan’s total exports stood at $13.970 billion in the first five months of the year, while non-oil and gas exports amounted to $5.132 billion.

Other major non-oil export items included fruit and vegetables, plastics and plastic products, aluminium products and cotton fibre.

Oil and gas exports totalled $8.838 billion in January-May, making up 63.26% of Azerbaijan’s overall exports, customs data showed.
