Number of hybrid and electric vehicles rises in Azerbaijan

The number of hybrid and electric vehicles in Azerbaijan continues to increase, according to the State Customs Committee.

Growing interest in environmentally friendly transport has been supported by import incentives and efforts to expand the necessary infrastructure. Hybrid vehicles in particular have recorded strong growth in recent years. 

The Azerbaijani authorities are also taking steps to develop charging infrastructure and encourage the use of cleaner vehicles.
