Climate change requires a review of Azerbaijan’s agricultural policy, a deputy chairman of the Agricultural Insurance Development Agency said.

According to him, more frequent droughts, extreme weather events and changes in water availability are creating new risks for agriculture, requiring modern risk-management tools and greater adaptation of the sector to climate change.

He stressed the importance of expanding agricultural insurance, improving water-use efficiency and promoting sustainable farming practices.
