Georgia increases petroleum product imports from Azerbaijan
Georgia imported 55,600 tonnes of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan worth $52.6 million in January-May 2026, according to data from Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
Import volumes rose threefold from a year earlier, while the value of imports increased nearly fourfold. Azerbaijan ranked fourth among suppliers of oil and petroleum products to Georgia during the period.
Georgia imported a total of 737,800 tonnes of oil and petroleum products worth $635.5 million in the first five months of the year. Russia, Türkiye, Romania and Bulgaria remained the country’s largest suppliers.
In 2025, Georgia imported 172,000 tonnes of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan worth about $118 million.
