Azerbaijan’s green power output reaches 2.8 bln kWh in H1

Azerbaijan generated 13.39 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the first half of 2026, the Energy Ministry said.

Thermal power plants produced 10.59 billion kWh, hydropower plants generated 1.89 billion kWh, while other sources accounted for 902 million kWh, including 475.7 million kWh from wind farms, 282.7 million kWh from solar plants and 143.6 million kWh from a waste-to-energy plant.

Electricity generation from renewable sources, including hydropower, increased by 463.1 million kWh year on year to 2.79 billion kWh.

Electricity exports totalled 241.2 million kWh in the first six months of the year, while imports stood at 113.1 million kWh.
