Azerbaijan more than doubles tomato exports to Georgia

Georgia imported 3,751 tonnes of tomatoes worth $2.7 million from Azerbaijan in January-June.

Calculations based on data from Georgia’s National Statistics Office showed that the value of the shipments was 2.7 times higher than in the same period of 2025, while the volume rose 2.6 times.

Azerbaijan ranked as Georgia’s second-largest tomato supplier during the period.

Georgia imported a total of 17,960 tonnes of tomatoes worth $13 million in the first six months of the year. The value of imports fell 4% year on year, while the volume declined 6%.

Georgia bought 9,230 tonnes of tomatoes worth $6.6 million from Turkey, 2,676 tonnes worth $2.2 million from Turkmenistan, 2,249 tonnes worth $1.5 million from Iran and 39.1 tonnes worth $51,200 from Russia.
