Kazakhstan starts fertiliser exports to Britain via Middle Corridor

Kazakhstan starts fertiliser exports to Britain via Middle Corridor
03.08.2026 15:00

Kazakhstan has organised its first multimodal shipment of mineral fertilisers to the United Kingdom via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy said.

The cargo, dispatched from Ekibastuz, is being transported by rail and sea through Kazakhstan, across the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia. It will then be shipped from the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi to Britain’s Port of Felixstowe.

The new route will expand access to the British market for Kazakh producers, diversify transport links and strengthen the resilience of international supply chains, the company said.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy previously organised an export shipment from Ekibastuz to Miami and currently transports cargo to the United States, Britain, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic and other markets.
