TuranBank Concludes Strategic Project Promoting Gender Equality Through International Collaboration
04.08.2026 14:55

TuranBank, one of the country’s leading banks, has successfully concluded a strategic project aimed at promoting gender equality in the financial sector. Implemented within the framework of a long-term collaboration between Enabling Qapital, a leading Swiss fund regulated by FINMA, and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, USA, the project combined research and practical methodologies to support more inclusive practices in the financial sector.

As part of the project, six graduate students from Columbia University, facilitated by Enabling Qapital, visited Azerbaijan to conduct practical research at TuranBank. During their visit, the students engaged with the Bank’s head office and branch teams, including female leadership, to gain detailed insights into the role of women in management and the implementation of workplace gender equality principles. They also discussed the Bank’s initiatives to support women entrepreneurs, improve access to favorable financial resources, and enhance women’s economic efficiency in business.

The project concluded with a final presentation, where TuranBank’s initiatives, key achievements, and plans for future improvements in gender equality were thoroughly discussed with members of the Management Board. A concrete action plan was presented to further strengthen the Bank’s efforts in this area. Measures outlined in the plan include educational programs, mentorship initiatives, and enhanced legal mechanisms aimed at preventing gender-based discrimination.

TuranBank emphasizes its commitment to gender equality in all its operations and is confident that such projects, supported by international partners, will contribute to increasing women’s participation in the economy and their active involvement in business in Azerbaijan.

Operating since 1992, TuranBank serves individual and corporate customers through 22 points of sale. Detailed information regarding the new services provided by the Bank can be obtained by visiting its official website or following its pages on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
