President Ilham Aliyev accepts credentials of new German Ambassador Dirk Lölken
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan, Dirk Lölken.
Recalling his official visit to Germany with satisfaction, President Aliyev highlighted the fruitful discussions held with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz on bilateral and global matters. The President emphasized that the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda signed in Berlin elevated bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level, forging strategic cooperation in trade, investment, and business.
Ambassador Dirk Lölken extended congratulations on the anniversary of the summit between Azerbaijan and Armenia held in Washington on August 8 of last year. In response, President Aliyev underscored that Azerbaijan initiated the regional peace agenda and noted that the peace process in the region has now become irreversible.
The meeting also touched upon Azerbaijan–EU relations, the expansion of the East-West transport corridor, the participation of German companies along the route, and prospective joint initiatives in conventional and renewable energy as well as education.
