Azerbaijan’s direct investment abroad reaches about $5 bln in H1 2026
Azerbaijan’s direct investment abroad totalled about $5 billion in the first half of 2026, Central Bank Statistics Department Director Samir Nasirov said.
The country’s capital and financial account recorded a $3 billion deficit during the period, driven mainly by a $3.3 billion increase in net foreign financial assets, while net foreign financial liabilities rose by around $300 million, he said.
Nasirov said the main components of the capital and financial account were foreign direct investment, portfolio investment and other investment.
“We see a net deficit of $4.4 billion under foreign direct investment. During this period, our direct investment abroad amounted to approximately $5 billion,” Nasirov said.
