The Health Ministry has said there is no threat of the Ebola virus spreading to Azerbaijan.

Shair Qurbanov, deputy director of the ministry's anti-plague station, said all visitors, particularly those from Africa, are examined upon arrival at border checkpoints and airports in Azerbaijan.

Those showing any sign of the disease are watched for 21 days at local clinics if they stay in the country, he said.

There has been no confirmed case of Ebola reported in Azerbaijan so far.
