Germany has coped with the difficulties in the energy sector that it faced before the start of winter, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at an economic conference in Berlin on March 7, reported from TASS.

"Within a short time, we became independent of coal, gas and oil from Russia,” he said. He added that none of the negative scenarios that were predicted last fall came true.

"We have partially exceeded our goals,” the chancellor added. Initially, the German Cabinet believed that underground gas storage facilities would be 40% full by the end of winter, but in reality, the level of occupancy is 70%, Scholz reminded.
