Russia’s State Duma has ratified an agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and China on cooperation in the field of natural gas supplies from Russia to China via the Far East route, reported from TASS.

The agreement was signed in Moscow and Beijing on January 31, 2023. It defines the conditions for cooperation in gas supplies from Russia to China along the Far East route, including the transboundary section of the gas pipeline across the Ussuri River near the cities of Dalnerechensk in Russia and Hulin in China.

After the project reaches its full capacity, the volume of Russian pipeline gas supplies to China will increase by 10 billion cubic meters and in total will reach 48 billion cubic meters per year, including supplies through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, Gazprom previously reported.

In early February 2022, Gazprom and CNPC signed a long-term contract for the supply of 10 billion cubic meters of gas via the Far East route.
