Baku court sentences man over theft from politician Etibar Mammadov’s house
A court in Baku’s Sabunchu district sentenced Ramil Abulgasnov to nearly two years of restricted freedom over the theft of $19,000 from a house belonging to politician Etibar Mammadov, local media reported.
Teleqraf reported that Abulgasnov is the son of a gardener who lived at Mammadov’s country house in the Bilgah settlement. He was charged with theft and theft causing significant damage.
The court sentenced Abulgasnov to one year, 11 months and 26 days of restricted freedom. During the sentence, he is barred from leaving Baku and from leaving his home between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. He must also wear an electronic bracelet.
The court also upheld a civil claim and ordered Abulgasnov to pay 28,074 manats to Orkhan Etibar oglu Mammadov, including material damages, state fees and legal costs.
