Gazprom suspends Russian gas supplies via Turkish Stream
05.06.2023 11:30
Russian gas supplies via the Turkish Stream were temporarily suspended from June 5 until June 12, Gazprom said in a statement.

Reported from Interfax that this is due to the planned annual maintenance of the gas pipeline. At the same time, gas from Russia continues to flow to Türkiye through another pipeline - Blue Stream, the repair of which was completed in the second half of May.

In 2022, scheduled maintenance work on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline took place on June 21-28.

Russia supplies gas to Türkiye through two pipelines across the Black Sea. Blue Stream was put into operation in early 2003, its design capacity is 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

The Turkish Stream export gas pipeline consists of two strings, one of which is designed to supply gas to Turkish consumers, and the second is to supply gas to the countries of Southern and South-Eastern Europe.

The total capacity of Turkish Stream is 31.5 billion cubic meters, its operation began in January 2020.
