Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector grows by over 7%

In January–October 2023, production in the oil and gas sector in Azerbaijan decreased by 2.4%, while it rose by 7.4% in the non-oil and gas sector, reported from the country’s State Statistics Committee.

Industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced goods worth 55.6 billion manats ($32.67 billion)—1.6% less year-on-year.

According to the committee, 68.1% of industrial production was done in the mining sector, 26.6% in the processing sector, 4.4% in the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam, and 0.9% in the water supply sector, waste treatment, and recycling.

In the mining sector, marketable oil production decreased by 8.1%, while marketable gas production increased by 3.6%.

Production in the sector of production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam increased by 2.2%, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment, and recycling by 14.9%.
