Europe halves imports of Russian gas – Novak

Europe has cut the share of Russian gas in its energy balance almost by half in recent years, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, according to TASS.

He said Russian supplies once accounted for around 44% of Europe’s gas imports but now stand at just 19%, a drop he linked to EU decisions to restrict purchases of Russian energy.
