A Baku court has placed Sputnik Azerbaijan’s editor-in-chief, Yevgeny Belousov, under house arrest, local media reported.

The Khatai District Court made the decision months after Belousov and another employee, Igor Kartavykh, were detained in July on charges of fraud, illegal entrepreneurship and money laundering.

Kartavykh was transferred to house arrest earlier in October and later released before leaving for Moscow.
