Sweden finds toxic chemicals in fake Labubu dolls
07.11.2025 13:00

Sweden’s Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) has found high levels of banned substances in counterfeit Labubu dolls.

Tests showed that the plastic faces of five out of seven examined toys contained large amounts of diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), a chemical known to harm reproductive health and fetal development.

The use of DEHP in toy manufacturing has been banned in Sweden since the late 1990s.
