EBRD commits €81 mln to 10 projects in Azerbaijan in 2025

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) committed 81 million euros to finance 10 projects in Azerbaijan in 2025, the bank said.

As of Dec. 31, 2025, the EBRD’s active loan portfolio in Azerbaijan stood at 906 million euros, with the private sector accounting for 40%. A total of 36 projects are currently active.

Sustainable infrastructure dominates the portfolio, making up 90% or 812 million euros, while financing for financial institutions totals 64 million euros, or 7%. The remaining 3%, or 30 million euros, is allocated to the corporate sector.

Cumulatively, the EBRD has invested 3.648 billion euros across 201 projects in Azerbaijan. The bank’s operating assets in the country amounted to 695 million euros as of the end of 2025.

In 2024, the EBRD provided 199 million euros in loans for eight projects, an increase of 27.6% or 43 million euros compared with the previous year.
