Vance says Trump to set ‘red lines’ in Iran talks

Final decisions on where the United States will draw its “red lines” in talks with Iran will be taken by President Donald Trump, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said at a joint news conference in Yerevan with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Vance said the Trump administration had been serious about reaching a constructive agreement with Tehran that would benefit the United States, adding that Washington believed such a deal could also have been advantageous for Iran.

Separately, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told CNN Türk that he considers a scenario of political change in Iran unlikely even in the event of a military strike.

Fidan warned that any Iranian retaliation, including potential attacks on U.S. military bases, could trigger a sharp escalation affecting not only security but also energy markets, posing serious risks to regional stability.
