The international development phase of jestdili.az launched with the support of Nar

The next phase of development has been launched for the Jestdili.az platform, created by Nar in partnership with the “Support to the Deaf” Public Union. As Azerbaijan’s first electronic sign language dictionary, the platform enables individuals with speech and hearing impairments, as well as their family members and relatives, to learn Azerbaijani Sign Language online, anytime and anywhere, completely free of charge.

As part of the new phase of the project, the addition of Russian and English language support to the platform is planned. At the same time, it is envisaged that versions of the 100 most frequently used words will be developed in both national and International Sign Language, forming a dedicated International Sign Language section. Furthermore, an interactive module enabling comparison between Azerbaijani Sign Language and International Sign Language will be introduced. The project also предусматриes the expansion of educational resources, as well as upgrades to technical maintenance and server infrastructure. Currently, the platform provides video translations of 4,000 words and 500 example sentences used in everyday communication.

The platform’s enhancement makes a significant contribution to building a more inclusive society. The project strengthens the social integration of individuals with hearing and speech impairments, broadens their access to education and information resources, and helps reduce communication barriers within society.

Nar’s “jestdili.az” was honoured with the Golden World Award by the International Public Relations Association for its social initiative as the most successful CSR project. More information about all social projects implemented by Nar is available at the link.

Currently serving 2.2 million subscribers, Nar has been the leading mobile operator in Azerbaijan for the past six years, based on the Customer Loyalty Index. This success is driven by Nar’s consistently implemented customer-centric strategy. The mobile operator provides users with reliable, high-quality communication services, a variety of internet packages, and modern eSim technology at affordable prices.
