Baku metro to operate one hour longer for Champions League match
17.02.2026 14:29

Baku Metro said it would extend operating hours by one hour on Feb. 18 due to the UEFA Champions League match between Qarabag FK and Newcastle United.

The decision follows a request from the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan and is in line with the capital’s mass events plan. All metro stations will remain open for passenger entry until 0100 local time during the night of Feb. 18–19.

Enhanced operations and additional staff will be deployed at Ganjlik station, located near Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Reserve trains will be prepared for deployment if necessary.

Despite the extended hours, the overall autumn-winter timetable will remain in effect. Additional control measures will also be implemented at Narimanov and 28 May stations.
