A technical malfunction disrupted operations on the Baku metro on Wednesday morning.

According to Baku Metro CJSC, passengers were evacuated from a train due to a technical fault at the Azadlig Prospekti station.

The train was moved to the first track at Darnagul station, which is not used for passenger service, for inspection.

A backup train was immediately dispatched from the Narimanov electric depot to restore service.

The metro operator said the situation is under control.
