Azerbaijan seizes 7.5 mln manats worth of contraband at border in March

A total of 541 kilograms and 132 grams of narcotic substances and 17 drug-containing pills were seized and removed from circulation in March 2026 as a result of measures against illegal drug trafficking carried out by the State Border Service, the Press Center of the State Border Service said in a statement.

According to the information, smuggled goods worth 7 million 573 thousand 290 manats were also detected and confiscated as part of anti-smuggling operations.

The seized items included foreign currency of the Russian Federation, ammunition for firearms, medicines, and tobacco products.
