2,278 hectares cleared of mines last week

From March 30 to April 5, 34 anti-tank mines, 83 anti-personnel mines, and 2,254 unexploded ordnance (UXO) were detected and neutralized in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) reported.

A total of 2,278.1 hectares of land were cleared.

In 2025, 69,200 hectares were cleared of mines and UXO. Since 2020, nearly 249,000 hectares have been cleared in the liberated areas.

The total number of mine victims in Azerbaijan exceeds 3,400, including 359 children and 38 women.

After the Second Karabakh War, mine victims numbered 382, including 55 fatalities and 143 civilians.
